Screw New England, I dislike Belichik as much as I dislike Hairball!!
i like the QB and coach of NE plus we have a penn st guy on NE’s team.
Not only that Southern, Joepa could have been their coach! In 1973, he turned down a $1.3‐million, six‐year contract to be coach and general manager of the Patriots.
I’ve been waiting on some responses because I know the Steelers, Giants and eagles fans have it out with NE navylion lol the NorthEast takes the NFL serious lol
I sincerely hope the NFL Hall of Fame treats Brady and Belichek with the same respect the baseball HOF has treated Bonds and Clemens. With a big fat asterisk. Brady is the biggest whiner in sports and gets every BS call. The NFL LOVES when the Pats win. The BS hit on the defenseless receiver call in the first half was another phantom call for the Pats. Go Rams. Bury that pretty boy into the turf.
Best picture EVER!!! Super Bowl LII

The smartest career move Joe Pa ever made, was decline that offer from Mr Sullivan to coach and run the Patriots...With his inability to develop QBS, he would have been exposed big time in the NFL...
As Buddy Ryan once observed, there are no Temples nor Rutgers' in the NFL..
“409”...I agree CT and the greatest of all time Joe Paterno did it playing by the rules and graduating football players something most coaches have a problem with. The NFL did have the ain’ts and Cleveland so I compare that to Rutgers and Temple!
Hi Southern..
I do think most great coaches thrive in their element, i.e., college or pro..Guys like Bear Bryant, Joe Paterno, Darrell Royal are great college coaches who would have failed in pros IMO..Heck, even Nick Saban couldn't cut it...Lou Holtz a great college coach was out after a year with Jets..
Its much tougher coaching in NFL Different systems..I guess JImmy Johnson was one guy who won titles in both, but unlike those names above, he ran a pro offense in college with great QBS
And jimmy couldn’t beat joe when he actually had a better team. Joe out coached him but on Jimmy’s defense he ain’t the only one that got out coached by the greatest of all time😁

LMAO.. Yeah, all those coaches back in the 70s known for development of QBs 😂
Jimmy's arrogance cost him that game..he continually threw into 8 man coverage, while his RBS were averaging nearly 10 yds per carry...Execute a basic game plan, and a balanced attack, he wins easily..
It was very similar to Villanova beating Georgetown in '85 NCAA title basketball game..Rollie Massimino coached a perfect game,, and Nova executed perfectly.. but he would have beaten Georgetown once in ten tries...that was the one..

Oh please, that would make sense if it was Joe's only NC, but he had won another 3 years prior. Also had 4 other undefeated seasons... must have been the luckiest coach in history, always getting that "one out of ten" win.
"The Great" Lou Holz was 4-6 against JP.
Didya know that Lou once spoke at a Second Mile fundraiser in Harrisburg? I was there. He gave a VERY emotional speech. In Fact, I've always enjoyed hearing him speak.
I also remember that Lou served on the advisory board for the Second Mile right up until the scandal broke. Hmmmmmmm
Then Lou had to know just like the other 900,003 people had to know because remember jerry didn’t try and hide what he was doing because he knew people would ignore what he was doing to save the penn st football team. Funny thing is Lou was a ND guy so I’m wondering why he didn’t report what he knew? I wonder what jerry had on Lou?
SPF, Re: Let's go Patriots
My Blue & White brother, with all due respect and utmost sincerity; go shit in your hat!
Holtz is a good public speaker and he delivers a moving message, until you remember how big a hypocrite he was/is.
Just dont shit in your skoal hat SPF.
I have to disagree with you on that Culture...Villanova played Georgetown 3 times that season. The first game they lost by a bucket and frankly should have won that ballgame. The 2nd game was in Georgetown and they got beat by 7 but the game was much closer than the score indicated. The Big East conference that year was tremendous and that is why 3 of the 4 final four teams that year were from the Big East...I find it humorous every time they say that was the greatest upset in NCAA tournament finals history. They say so because of the seeding but anybody that has a clue about basketball knows Villanova was underseeded that year...The whole Georgetown would have won 9 out of 10 games against Nova is pure nonsense as well...These 2 teams were very familiar with each other and that made game planning much easier due to the familiarity with personnel that both of these teams had. It wasn't as if Georgetown had a bad game or was cold...They shot almost 55% from the floor themselves...Also keep in mind there was no 3 pt. stripe in those days either...In my mind and for my money I think Jimmy V's NC State team beating Houston was the greatest upset in NCAA tournament finals history...Anyway I hate the pretty boy and Belicheat...I was hoping for Suh to snap his leg or knock his head off last night...So much for wishful thinking...
lol I was trying to be sarcastic beenthere lol
tsu, man I tried Copenhagen one time and got a splitting headache and never tried it again lol
Vinnie Testaverde?????????????
That's close FD...Nova may have been underseeded, but they are still the lowest seeded team in NCAA history to win a title..They staggered in to the tourney, being blasted by Pitt in last reg season game..and Georgetown, anchored by great Patrick Ewing was a no 1 seed..
Also, let's not forget that the great equalizer in those days was no shot clock..It took a perfect game to win by 2, Nova shooting .786 on 22 -28 shooting, which is absurd..Its very problematic if Nova could have won, with a shot clock..ESPN's Beano Cook, Im sure you remember him, a Pitt man, once used that game when railing against a college football playoff with the famous quote, "Does anyone really think Nova is better than Georgetown"?
By the way, being a Philly guy, I was a big fan of the 'Cats that night..
Hated to see the Patriots dethrone the Eagles, they really looked average in many a game this yr..Makes you wonder if the NO Saints could have done it; surely Brees would not have been as harried as Goff..and would have put more than 3 on the board..Boston with baseball, and football titles...UGH!~And the Celtics are hot, finding their groove..

The rules are the rules, basically you just said "By different rules Georgetown would have won". Well, the shot clock didn't exist for the NCAA Tourney until 86... so who cares what would have happened otherwise.
Also, people seem to forget that Villanova beat #2 Michigan, #5 Memphis State, and #7 North Carolina in that same tournament. So let's not act like beating Georgetown was some blue moon moment for them, they played 4 teams ranked in the top 7 and beat them all to win the title. Yet people keep saying beating Georgetown was somehow "out of the blue".
Also, you mentioned they were beat by Pittsburgh in the final game of the regular season. Well, they had nothing to play for in that game, and beat Pittsburgh in the Big East tournament the next game. Soundly. 7 of their 10 losses the whole year came to teams in the top 20, 5 of them were to #1 Georgetown and #3 St. John's.
Villanova that year was severely underrated going into the tournament.
Yes, rules are the rules...but also, records are the records...as Bill Parcells said, you are what your record says you are...and Nova was 19-10, and blasted out of the BE tourney in 2nd round by 15...BY ST JOHN'S..That will get you a lower seed every time..
You damn right CT, you are what your records say you are and joe’s record wins is at 409 baby.
I got a question for all the NFL fans that hate the patriots. Have y’all always hated the patriots or just since Belichick took over and started winning Superbowls? I can understand hating the Georgia Bullpups but what has NE ever done to get all the hate they get?
