We kicked Oregon’s butt in that game. I’m bringing Colorado up because I’m showing you they’ll do what they wa t when they want just like they did in 2016. These crooks pulling the strings have always done what they want. How hard is it to come up with a true playoff unless you are trying to control something? It ain’t hard Roam
38-20 over a 2 loss team outside of the top 10 won't get it done. First time I've heard a game 14-7 at half, and 28-14 after three referred to as a butt kicking.
Simple fact that you can't run away from is the same people you say are a scam and would do anything to deny us a NC, are the very same people who wanted the Rose Bowl to allow us to play Nebraska for the title. You just plain can't explain that away Southern, no matter how much you want to. Rose Bowl plays ball, we play Nebraska. They didn't, we were left out.
Everything else is BS conjecture. There's only one fact, and it's this: The Rose Bowl could have let us play Nebraska, but they didn't. The End.
AMEN "THE END"!!!!! PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!
Cmon southern, its not rigged...Maybe imperfect far from rigged...Take '69, Texas was clearly the national champion, just ask Pres Nixon..Texas beat no. 2, Arkansas, 15-14 in the game of the year...Then in the Cotton Bowl, after falling behind 17-14 with about 6 minutes left, to a top 10 Notre Dame team in the Cotton bowl, showed their championship mettle by driving 80 yds, to score the winning TD with about a minute to go , 21-17 THE backfield , led by QB James Street, RBS Worster, Keys Bertelsen was terrific...PSU played no one, that wasnt rigged..
Incidentally, do you see the hypocrisy, about claiming ND success is ancient history, and one gloating over a game 25 yrs ago over a lack lustre Oregon team..LOL...
@culture-thrives: aka Richard Cranium
Who was gloating over the Oregon game?? Get a clue dude. This is a Penn State forum, we talk about Penn State games. The game he was talking about was the PSU/ Ohio state game. Show me the hypocrisy and gloating in posting that he watched a game on Youtube that he attended as a toddler??
If he would have posted this on another team's forum I might agree with you.
You're as bad as Suzy bud, you keep swinging and missing.
It is my understanding that the Ohio sports writers voted for Nebraska. If they had voted for Penn State, they would have had a split decision (Nebraska winning in the coaches' poll and Penn State in the writers' poll) like Michigan got three years later.

My point is and always has been that there wouldn't have been a "vote" in the first place had the Rose Bowl just gotten over themselves and joined the alliance. LMAO
Do you think the fact that the Rose Bowl is located in Pac-10 territory had anything to do with that decision?

Yes, to an extent. It was/is called "The Granddaddy of them all" because it has the most tradition, dating back to 1901 or 02 I think. That and it was a HUGE moneymaker for the Big Ten and Pac-12, as it always had a huge TV rating when played.
I think the bowl was worried that breaking the tradition would cheapen the product, thus the hold out. In a way, they were right... The Rose is really not considered the "gold standard" anymore, just another NY6 bowl.
