I believe we are playing Illinois because Wisky/Minn wanted to play their rivalry game, and we would have played one one those two.

There are rumors that teams in the East will host the West because next year the West gets home field advantage in crossover games

Yeah, we are getting a worse team from the West because Wisconsin / Minnesota cancelled their game earlier in the season, but were adamant about playing it because it's been consecutive since 1907. So the Big Ten let them play it, rescheduled the cancelled Maryland / Michigan State game to balance it in the East, and then placed matchups of teams that haven't played each other or rivalry games. Indiana / Purdue for instance is a rivalry game and has no basis in seeding.

Basically they threw out the seeding and just made it so there were no repeat games.

@roaminglion. Illinois fired Lovie Smith today we should put a good butt kicking on them next week and get that 4th win. This team still has a lot to fight for keeping from having a losing season. They’ve been fighting hard these last 3 weeks. We tied up Michigan St 17-17 all time that’s one reason why these games are fun to watch especially when we beat Michigan and Michigan State. There’s always something to play for.
