I think they are overrated. Here is why...
Indiana isn't that great, they were really on borrowed time due to last year. Iowa State is overrated too. This is a team that barely beat Northern Illinois in week one.
Iowa has a really, really good defense. However, their offense looks below average at best. They should be undefeated when we play them, which would be good for us. However, Auburn scares me more than Iowa. Iowa's offense should not be able to do anything against our D.
You really think Clifford will be able to handle playing against a ferocious D at night in front of a fired up hostile crowd ? I'm keeping that game penciled in as a loss. May come down to a battle of field goals. Maybe Wisconsin is overrated too.

Did Clifford crumble at Camp Randall?
Well if coach says we need to win the big plays and the turnovers then against Iowa we should be OK if we are equal or better in TO's. Iowa State gave the game away although that first interception the Iowa DB grabbed the receiver with both hand before he came off of him and made the INT. Big non call early in the game. The ball was also badly underthrown.
Auburn is definitely more dynamic and an unknown.

He was far from impressive and playing at 11AM at Camp Randall is not quite the same as Kinnick at night.

They haven't even announced the game time yet, are you saying you think a day game would somehow be easier?
There are 2 big differences between the Iowa game and the Auburn game...First difference is obvious...One is at home and is a white out game against a team that beat 2 cupcakes...The other is in a very tough building on the road against a very good defense and a team that is very well coached...I believe Penn State should and will win both games but Iowa is going to be the tougher game by far...I expect us to hammer Auburn but Iowa scares me...They always play Penn State tough...
I know we've beaten Iowa, what 5-6 straight times? That's gotta be in their heads too. I'd much rather play them at night then at noon their time......3:30 would be ideal in my mind, thus giving our boys a chance to settle in on the time zone factor.
We don't know much about Auburn other than they crushed two teams they were supposed to crush.
Auburn and OSU are the two teams I think give us a run for our money. In fact, I think if we lose on Saturday, it could be a tumbledown effect and we'll lost to Iowa and OSU as well.
Let me put this in a way YOU will understand!!!!!!!
AIN"T LOSING TO AUBURN!!! That would be like missing a 12 point Buck, standing broadside, 6 feet away with a 30 06 in your hand, loaded, and the Buck is tied up to a tree and you are standing on the ground....no tree stand, no chance of falling out!!!!
GO STATE!!!!
@southern-psu-fan: I think it's gonna be a close game too. Hope it doesn't come down to a field goal to win it.
I agree. Gosh, I'd think its imprudent to take anyone, even Villanova lightly. Take em one game at a time.
I ain't playing and when I was playing I never took anybody lightly and was always well prepared by the coaching staff to succeed...Alas I ain't playing anymore but from my vantage point in my easy chair I see a few factors that lead me to believe Penn State should win this ballgame by at least 2 TD's...I don't think Auburn has seen an atmosphere like they are coming into Saturday night and that is going to affect them...Audibles, Cadence & Snap counts will definitely be affected...They sure as hell haven't seen a defense like they are gonna see Saturday night and I believe it is going to be a snowball rolling downhill kind of deal...Bo Nix ain't Justin Fields and he has a tendency to make bad decisions and turn over the football...Their coach is a first year coach and I am certain he hasn't seen anything like he is gonna see Saturday either...The only question mark for me is can Penn State score and can their OLine hold up...I am thinking 31-17 and if Auburn starts turning it over it could get ugly...This is a statement game for Penn State and I am fully expecting them to come out Saturday night and make a statement...
