Why can't you read the article before you post the link?  They wouldn't need a helicopter.  All they would have to do is let Purdue bring it into the stadium using the larger, Notre Dame tunnel.  That is a simple solution and would be a nice display of sportsmanship - something that the Iwish have never been accused of possessing.  They have no class whatsoever.

Notre Dame Athletics has restricted use of their main tunnel to their own football team and band, which is the only entrance large enough for the Drum. .....

Tsuga, in the article it stated that before the renovation in 2017 there was only 1 tunnel. In 2017 the new tunnel was built into the stadium for use by the visiting teams and band. 

From the article:  

" the past, the drum made the trip to South Bend, Indiana, where Purdue will play No. 12 Notre Dame at 2:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. However, renovations at Notre Dame Stadium in 2017 added a visitor tunnel that now restricts its access to the field."

Nuter Lame are just being A holes. They could let "just the Drum" roll in and position it by the visitors tunnel and let the rest of the band and team enter through the smaller visitors tunnel.

Excellent point, BT. I like the way you look at these things.  Just hope Purdue beats Notre Lame like a drum!

Purdue has good engineers...next time they can get a take down drum or and amplified smaller drum.
