Hopefully is ready to come back for UMass and get some reps before Ohio State, as our WR corps after Lamber-Smith have been underwhelming.

Liam Clifford is a good slot/3rd option but not a #2. Cephas has gotten better since week 1, but hardly a great portal get. All the others are role WRs it seems.

Harrison Wallace III was the #1/#2 WR on the depth chat for a reason, and we are going to need him.

Malik and Cephas were brought in for this specific reason. It’s apparent Cephas is still adjusting to step up in B1G competition. I can’t imagine Liam was ever supposed to be the #3 but here we are. It’s going to be another long off season in the portal regarding WR with the departure of KLS and Cephas this offseason.

@kularrow I think Liam Clifford was always supposed to be the #3... in the slot

Malik and Cephas were brought in to compete for the wide positions, not the slot.

I’m impressed with Liam Clifford. The dude catches the football that’s for sure.

I just looked at WR recruiting over the past 4 years and it’s far from impressive and with Cepheus showing no signs of becoming the savior we hoped he would be the situation has become very concerning. Do we even know if Allar can throw an accurate pass beyond 20 yards? I also don’t understand why the highly touted WR recruit out of Manheim Twp hasn’t made it onto the field, haven’t heard anything about him since he arrived on campus.

@psujoe  I thought the OL and the running game was going to carry the team this year until DA got his feet wet. We’re good enough to beat 10 of the 12 teams with the way things are now but to get in the playoffs we’re going to have to get better on offense. I believe the defense is playing good enough but the offense needs to get it together. We’re 5-0 baby we just need to keep getting better.

@southern-psu-fan I was worried about the D after the first game but they’ve come around and looked a lot like the D I was expecting this year. I’m with you on the O, they definitely need to get better or we’re most likely losing 2 or 3 games. If we’re gonna win these big games coming up not only do we need a better running game and deep threat receiver but we also need Allar to step up and become a playmaker.

I think #3 and #11 will eventually prove their worth - both have flashed and shown their talent but both have also been inconsistent.   Maybe they can be best utilized as situational players.
