I highly doubt he goes to USC at this moment. Too much vested in PSU and he sure seems he likes it at PSU. If he does Brent Pry or yurich would be next in line for HC.
Hmmmm. What are the chances of that happening. Already been there before. How often does that happen. Not impossible though. Honestly, Yurcich or Pry would be a perfect mold. JMO.
Franklin isn't going anywhere...He would be a fool to leave now...His program is on the cusp of taking the next step towards being an elite program...He is a Pennsylvania guy and I don't think the west coast is his thing...This is a non story...
I really hope Franklin stays but if he takes that job how about O'Brien?
O'Brien, that is interesting. His experiment as an NFL HC is on major pause right now, his best path to that job would be a successful re-entry in the college ranks.
@wnylion I would much rather se JOEMO come back as the head coach than O'Brien. BUT, Franklin ain't going no where. At least for the next couple of years. I feel like he finally has all the pieces to make a serious run for the playoffs this year!!

You might be right and who says Sandy B. doesn't restructure James contract. He accepts, more money for him, stability in the program and shuts down all the noise regarding him and the USC job.

He may have the pieces but does he have the coaching acumen?
Prog
@psujoe His track record says he does. He ain’t won a NC yet but it’s coming I believe Penn St is going to take the lead in the big 10

O’Brien hates recruiting. He succeeded at PSU with Joe’s guys. He has an excellent football mind but I don’t think he would be a good choice for Penn State.
I also believe Silas Redd would’ve probably stayed had James Franklin been the guy. James Franklin is great with these young dudes today.
@southern-psu-fan And Franklin is a WAAAY better recruiter. lol But the thing they have in common is, not so great offensive lines. JF can't seem to get the OL cranking like it should, BOB didn't recruit offensive linemen.
@been-there-ii we’ve put a few in the NFL so the talent is there I just don’t think we’ve got to the point of just plugging guys in and it kills us when we have guys leave early. Like I tell FD, Clemson, Georgia and Alabama are 3 deep at the OL position and have been for years so it’s been easier for these teams to have better offensive Lines. If these teams have a few bust it doesn’t kill ‘em like it does Penn St but another thing I think is the defensive lines in college football are just better than the offensive lines. Everything ain’t on the OL either the QB can make ‘em look bad but the QB can also make ‘em look good. We’ve put enough offensive linemen in the NFL to say the OL has been good.
And Since BOB is now enrolled in the Nick Saban Coach Rehabilitation Program, the link to the SEC Shorts video follows:

O'Brien won't come back because he hates the JOEBOTS and the "Paterno People"!!!

@rip I'm with ya Bob! Look, I give him props for taking the job and keeping the team together but that's as far as it goes for me. Just my feelings. Not a big fan of the guy.
