We got another defensive end commit from Michigan  yesterday. I'm not sure if any of you care about this based on the postings from the last few days.

Bryce Mostella, 3 star DE from Michigan. Big frame but light in weight. Good get with lots of potential, a diamond in the rough. Iowa and Michigan offered him. You are right WOFirst, we need to sway from any political inklings.

Why, the last few days were barren so what else were we to talk about?

It's July.  We got a 3 star committ from a young man living in Michigan.  National LOI day is in December.  I'll wait till the end of November to get excited about recruiting.

Personally, I dont get all wound up about recruiting like some of you do.

Our discussion on the other thread was done respectfully, and with no malice toward anyone and their opinions.

Amen about recruiting.  I can't get excited over the shifting sands of a teenager's decision making process.

Quite a bit of the conversation has been around politics, maybe not direct center, but always a dangerous and divisive topic, certainly not football.  I would LOVE to dive into it though I think not appropriate and always leads to bad feelings. Just my thought.

Like Roam said Lake, we all live pretty good lives in this country  so IMO the politicians must be doing something right. We don’t always get who we want and we might not see eye to eye on some things but if somebody is elected by the people then I’m pulling for him or her to do great things. If you pull for whoever wins it’s a win win in my opinion lol. I was raised Democrat but I hardly vote Democrat anymore but I still pulled for Obama to be a great president just like I pull for Trump now. Not pulling for your president to be great makes no sense to me. I’m pulling for the ship I’m riding on regardless who’s the captain because if the ship goes down I go down. How can anybody have so much pride that you want your country not to do good because you don’t like the president? I’m always trying to learn something lake and after this debate I’ve learned quite a few things which is always a good thing lol

Southern my friend, that was well said.  Could not have expressed it any better myself.  Now if the rest of the people would only feel this way.  Wishful thinking I guess.

IMO the politicians were doing something right, but over the past 20 years that's changed. When Reagan was in office he could at least work with Tip O'Neill, the speaker of the House for the Democrats.

Nowadays no one can work with anyone else, both parties are just so damn stubborn and won't give an inch. The word compromise is completely foreign to these people

I believe the system works better if not much gets done. I believe it’s designed that way moving at a snails pace. Right now this is the best our country has ever been. I’m as happy as a fat rat in a cheese factory baby. I think both sides do a great job keeping the other side as honest as possible. Life is great brother and gettin better by the day and Penn State football is right around the corner. I will say this, pray for Israel,  don’t let any man deceive you and know you ain’t going to stop what’s coming because it’s already been written. Knowing the Truth lets me fall asleep laying my head down before it hits the pillow baby lol. How sweet it is!

It's good, but it can be much better.

With 40 million Americans living in poverty, we can't stop or move at a snail's pace. Our bridges and roads are falling apart and these morons can't figure out how to fix them.

As for our economy, yeah it's good right now. However, anyone can pay $1 trillion plus per year for a good economy... that's what Trump is doing. Adding ridiculous amounts of debt in the name of short term economic gains. It is not sustainable. Obama at least had a reason to add to the debt (took over in a bad recession) but Trump took over a good economy with a 4.5% unemployment rate.

I mean, the dude said he'd eliminate the debt in 8 years and he is on track to add almost $10 trillion to it if he gets 8 years. LMAO

Trump took credit for the economy that Obama restored. Many people I know that voted for Trump think he is some kind of GOD. Believe me or not, I know someone that have pictures of Donald in every room of their house which I see as rather weird and cultist. I don't know what's so great about him. We still have lots of work to do.  Bye, bye Trump in 2020. I don't think he will make a 2nd term.

Roads and bridges are just fine in Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee and SCAR. I can’t speak for the other states because I don’t travel there. As for the debt I think it’s like the Star Wars thing back in the 80’s with Reagan, it’s BS because they all spend to much money lol

SPF, "Roads and bridges are in fine SCAR"?  When I returned from Tyndall in FL a few years back, I left GA into SC and thought I was driving on the moon.  NC roads are great.  Gas is cheap in SC, but roads are awful.

According to Federal and Georgia's own department of transportation, 9 bridges on Georgia Interstates are functionally deficient, with over 500 bridges on other roads throughout Georgia having the same classification.

So no, you're wrong. The bridges aren't fine, I'll trust the Army corps of engineers and professionals who say they aren't.

Ignore them if you wish, all you are doing is burying your head in the sand and hoping someone fixes the problem before another bridge collapses like the one in Minneapolis.

Our roads and bridges are just fine the Ga DOT spends more time building HOV lanes so they can charge more money for us to drive. If the bridges and roads were as bad as you say they would be working on them. Stop letting people deceive you Roam your listening to the people that want money and people that will spend spend spend and spend because theirs jobs depend on bringing in money rather they need it or not. I’m not saying there might not be bridge or road somewhere that might need work but it ain’t as bad as you make it out to be. I’m all over the roads in the southeast and 95% of the roads are good.

How much money has Minnesota been given to fix bridges? If they didn’t fix the bridges then shame on the Minnesota government.

For $#@$ sake Southern, do you just choose to think experts are lying? The Army corps of engineers is just saying a bunch of bridges in Georgia are functionally deficient to get their rocks off?

There's ignorance, and then there's just willful ignorance. On one hand, you have experts in engineering telling you over 500 bridges need to be replaced... and on the other hand you have???? Just your gut saying "It's not that bad"

You can't possibly be this naive. For years the Army Corps of Engineers said the levees and pumps in New Orleans were old, broken and/or not structurally sound. Experts consistently tried to tell the government they needed to be fixed. People like you just blew off the experts and said the government would do something if it needed too. Then Katrina happened, the pumps failed, and the levees broke. All of a sudden everyone was like "OMG what happened" like it came out of nowhere. Billions upon billions dollars later, they still aren't fixed and the government is playing Russian Roulette again in NO, basically just hoping they can get away with not fixing the problem by hoping another storm doesn't hit.

When experts in something speak, you should listen.

When it comes to money I don’t look past anything. I believe you get what you vote for. The people in New Orleans  voted them crooks and kept voting for them until it finally bit them in the butt. Maybe you need to look all the government waste and there’s always pork in the infrastructure bills by both parties and you don’t think any lies were told.  I drove down to Alexander City Alabama today from Atlanta and the roads were in great shape. I’m telling ya Roam I’m all over the roads in the south east and to my best of knowledge most are in good shape. Of course there’s a bridge here and a road there but most are in good shape. I can’t speak for Minnesota or California because I don’t travel there.

1. I didn't say roads, I said bridges.
2. You aren't an Engineer, so you really don't know what a functionally deficient bridge looks like
3. Engineers from the Army, the Federal DOT, and Georgia's DOT all agree on this issue
4. If at this point you don't believe it, then you believe the Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of Transportation are either idiots, or they are lying.
