Lost a whole lot of respect for the Iowa coach. Saw an article where he defended the fans booing our injuries and implied that some of the Lions were playing "turtle" and faking being hurt to stop Iowa's momentum! Hope those comments come back to haunt him when we kick their sorry azzes in the B1G championship game.

They were manhandled up and down the field until Clifford went down and they still had to score late to win. They are overrated and in one of the softest divisions of any conference in America.

I'm not a fan of booing regardless of any given situation. Clifford threw a pick on the 2nd series? Iowa pinned them deep how many times? Iowa is very brutal on defense. They have some very hard, hard hitters. That's what took him out of the game. Iowa defense, plain and simple. That is why they are now the #2 team in the country. Ferentz must have loads of confidence in his defense to do what he did at the end of the 4th quarter. I don't believe Iowa is overated.

I don't believe they were manhandled. Throwing a pick minutes into the game kind of set the tone.
@forum-titan Iowa only managed 3 points on that pick after having 1st and goal and going backwards. In fact, they only managed 3 points on the first 2 picks. They are overrated and their defense was on it’s heels as Clifford carved them up through the air and on the ground. They set the blueprint for how to expose that defense. It’s good, not great. Overrated.
@lionbacker99 I watched the game again and one thing stuck out, their defense got to the QB and ours didn’t and even though the defense played great the first half they didn’t get the stop when the game was on the line. Doesn’t matter how good you play the first 3 quarters what did you do when the game was on the line in crunch time. The defense knew what was on the line when Clifford got hurt and they couldn’t get the stop. You either get it done or you don’t as the Tuna use to say. Just one game though let’s hope Clifford is ok and let’s go get ‘em starting with Illinois.

Iowa is a good football team. Phenomenal defense and special teams unit. You know what they say , defense wins games.

I would have to agee with you on this, I don't like booing regardless. As for Iowa's defense, I think they are good but to me looked a little suspect when they played Colorado State. Just my opinion but I thought Pry's defense better than their's up to Clifford's injury and the guys just gassed. I think Iowa's D (and entire team) is way over rated.
Also, I just got back from the doctors for my annual check up. My PA is the wife of a former defensive back during the later days of Joe. I would prefer not to mention his name but he was second team B10. Anyway, she said her husband thought the same thing.
@southern-psu-fan Agree to disagree. The defense played very well. You can’t expect the defense to stop the other team every single time when your own offense is inept and losing the field position battle and constantly giving the ball back to the other team. The defense played well.
@lionbacker99 Iowa’s offense ranks 120th in the country. Roberson helped give ‘em a 10 point lead and the defense couldn’t get the stops to help get the win. If Iowa has an average offense I would agree with you but their offense is garbage and remember, they knocked our QB out of the game and we didn’t get to theirs. I believe their offense was 122nd before our game
I’m not down on the the defense I’ve been bragging on ‘em all year I just don’t think they played good Saturday in the 2nd half I just thought they struggled to get off the field.
Of course they did, our offense was inept after Clifford left and they got tired. Iowa had the ball something like 30+ minutes in the 3 quarters Clifford was gone.
Losing Mustipher didn't help matters either.
