MD has been successful as DC and positive results with recruiting at State. Could be a plan in progress that he becomes HC for stability and with an outside influence, he then brings in an OC through his connections that he trust and integrates with the D scheme, and a DC that runs a D based on Manny's philosophy and tendencies. Not saying hiring "yes" men, but Coordinators that understand the puzzle pieces vs living in their own little microworlds. You just can't have a HC/Coordinator team with opposing philosophies. It really does boil down to competence, confidence, mutual respect, and getting on or off the same train going forward.
