We scored 49 points on USC. 45 on Michigan last year. 38 on Ohio st last year 25 this year. We’re probably scoring more points now than we ever had? Also it’s not easy scoring points on USC, Michigan and Ohio st. I think we’ve done pretty good considering having to rebuild the whole team in 4 years?
So you guys have 100% confidence in the OL with the game on the line against Michigan, Ohio St or Sparty to get some tough yards? Melt away the clock against those teams with consecutive positive run plays, get a few first downs and get the win? I’m sorry, but that is the measuring stick. How the OL plays against those teams determines good seasons vs great seasons. Dominating Maryland doesn’t get the program where we want it to be. Have they gotten incrementally better? Yes. Are they where we thought they would be with the highly rated OL recruits Franklin has brought in? Probably not. Agree to disagree, I guess.
Bobby Engram as WR coach? He may be looking for a job after this season if Harbaugh is fired in Baltimore?
To be fair, I agree with you guys that the pass blocking has gotten better. It’s the run blocking that is still a work in progress. Perhaps, that has something to do with the RPO scheme. I heard a former NFL GM on XM radio describing how difficult it is to teach RPO blocking schemes to o linemen, even NFL O linemen. To the best of my knowledge, Limegrover honed his skills under Jerry Kill at multiple schools in Kill’s career. I think Kill ran a traditional NFL style offense, not RPO. At least, he did at Minnesota. This may be some of the growing pains.

Yep, that is my understanding L99. I believe he'd be a good hire.

Well said. While our OL may have improved "somewhat", I still dont get a warm fuzzy feeling about them. I'm anxious to see how they do in a bowl game. The extra practice that our guys get will hopefully speak volumes against our bowl opponent.

I don't think they are a great or elite offensive line yet either, I mean... Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State have elite defensive lines. Those teams bring it, and of course we would have some issues against them.
Remember, in 2015 before Limegrover our line was absolute garbage. Like, historically bad. Is three years realistic to think that a team could go from absolute garbage to being able to push around the best defenses in football?
I think those expectations are a bit high, and over 3 years I think the OL has progressed well.
