Been watching a lot of games. Have yet to see a team that the level of coaching was lower than PSU.

No.

And I gotta say, I think Mark Stoops would be a helluva HC at PSU.

It's amazing how you guys can watch a game and determine just how good or bad the coaching staff is. I am so envious of this incredible skill. I'm sure it has nothing to do with all the sports "news" shows you watch or listen too, it must just be some innate quality you possess. I just wish I could be as good as you. No sarcasm here, no really no sarcasm here.

It's an ART we were ALL born with!!!! An incredible ART to say the least! In fact, it is ONLY second to Southerrns ART of weekly top 5 predictions!

Try some hot yoga! I actually increased my JF play calling predictions after only two sessions!

Really,  no sarcasm here either.  Just the facts baby!! This is where the BIG DAWGS hang!!

Yeah I don’t think any response is based on one game, one season; but rather several seasons and multiple same like decisions. JF has a certain skill set that is very good at the right time just like any other CEO in the business world and at some point in time it is  time to go for most CEOs not because they suck, it’s just the wrong time for their innate skill set if they cannot adapt and change. It really isnt rocket science or personal.  But it is a rabbit hole that can go deep and long when there is no accountability at the top.

If JF is gonna continue to be the CEO, fine, as a consumer, fans simply have to make a decision if the product is good enough to continue to support or move on as it’s a consensual relationship at that level and in fact any level. If the BOD is good with it then that’s what you got. I don’t think there are enough fans to walk out or have the influence to change anything right now, that really is a money driven factor that takes time to show up.

It is interesting though that a lot of assistant coaches have seemingly departed voluntarily  to better gigs but the HC remains the same. Maybe JFs other talent is developing assistant coaches and there sense of knowing when to catch another ride.

I will add one other comment; I don’t watch sports shows but I do watch sports from a strategic planning perspective; I find it quiet amazing and interesting in most sports. Also as a self proclaimed arm chair HC, I do profess that if I can sit and watch from the equivalent of the booth and have a pretty damn good idea about what’s coming, that’s not good.

Also, I’m very interested in seeing what Pry does at VTech. Maybe something maybe nothing extraordinary, but I’m interested because you’ll get a chance to see how he functions as a CEO alongside his ACs. And I don’t necessarily mean in numbers of wins and losses but how those play out; that’s the interesting piece IMO.

Badmouth Franklin's coaching, challenge Cael's coaching.  Good thing Russ Rose retired or somebody would bash him also.

At least somebody is consistent.  Who is that somebody?

Hey, how about PSU's womens soccer coach and fencing coach?  Mens Lacross?

I will toss my nickel into this discussion as well...Here is my take on Franklin...This is what I have seen so far...He has been tremendous developing WRs, Linebackers, DLineman and Runningbacks...Done a very good job with developing corners and safety's as seen by the number of Penn State players in the NFL from these positions...I honest to God believe they were 3 offensive lineman away from winning a national title this year...If this program can just find 3 decent offensive lineman this year they will compete for a national title...Franklin has done a tremendous job recruiting...He has the same problem the New York Football Giants have...They have million dollar position players and a 2 cent offensive line...The problem is championships are won up front...Penn State has consistently been outstanding up front on the defensive side of the football and has been consistently below average up front on the offensive side of the football...Until they address the issues with the offensive line they will destined for mediocrity no matter who is coaching, what the game plan is and how great the skill players are...It's as simple as that...I personally think Franklin is well aware of this and fully expect the offensive line situation to be addressed this coming football season...In my opinion his job depends on it...One final thought on this topic...His contract is set up for a huge buyout for this upcoming season however for the 2023 season the buyout is a mere 4 million dollars which in this current financial climate in college football is peanuts...This is on paper a 10 year deal but in reality is a one year deal with a wait and see...If this program doesn't produce this season I think he is shown the door and if they have great success this season I see this contract being torn up and the price of his salary and buyout greatly increased...Just my opinion...
