The polls are a joke...Penn State just has to keep winning...

I don't really think anyone takes the coaches poll seriously anymore. More just a tradition thing at this point, heard most coaches don't even fill it out.

Then why publish it?  Apparently enough coaches (or their designee's) took the time to fill it out, and its obvious that some continue to have an ax to grind with Penn State, James, or both.  And by the way, why take the AP seriously with all the regional bias on the part of the sports writers?  Or for that matter, why take the CFP poll seriously as they surely have their own agenda?  All polls are subjective and subject to bias.  My point was the coaches poll still ranks ND & OSU above us which in my opinion is ludicrous.   

The polls have always been a joke...They use them as a tool to manipulate and pack the teams in to the playoffs that they want in...

There shouldn't be a poll taken until after week 5 or 6...Then you have a fairly good idea of who is belongs where...

I literally said they do it out of tradition at this point. I don't know of any channel or program using them, everything I read always uses the AP rankings

I'll bet the Golden Domers & the Suckeyes take some consolation from their current ranking in the Coaches Poll.  I've heard a local leprechaun wannabe say,  "after all, the coaches know more than the sports writers".   

Ohio state got bailed out by the ncaa and big 10 gettin Fields when they didn’t have a QB this time they didn’t have that luxury and they’ve taken a step back because IMO they just ain’t what they were judging from the first 2 games but they could get better time will tell. If y’all watched the final drive you could tell the guys on there wasn’t impressed with Ohio State at all. It’s time for Penn State to step it up and take the lead of the big 10 which I think they will. Don’t be deceived by these poll scammers because Oregon and Iowa ain’t no top 5 teams you can take that to the bank baby! 

The coaches poll still reflects some early season "bias" which had Ohio State and ND considered potential National Championship contenders.  If they continue to play in a substandard way, they will drop further.

Play the games. 

Not sure how a coach can have an unbiased and knowledgeable opinion, since they're probably busy doing their game prep or coaching. I'm betting if they aren't a future opponent, they don't watch many other recorded games either.

Coaches poll is pretty much nonsense IMHO.
