@mtnittanylion the loss to iowa was bad and the loss to Illinois is unacceptable but James Franklin can make up for it if we win out. If we win out all is forgiven. Like I said, as long as it’s not to late winning solves 99.99999999% of your problems.
@tsuga Happy Birthday, Brother! OO-RAH!
Major shrinkage or just 2nd Lt. shrinkage, they should still have saluted your bare effort!
@been-there-ii: Right backatcha brother. " From the halls of Montezuma......."

Roam, if we beat Michigan and win out a 4-0 run does James Franklin deserve another year? If he wants another year he’s going to get it we both know that but that doesn’t mean he deserves it. Win these next 4 games and 3 of ‘em will be pretty dang good wins and if he wins ‘em I think he deserves it. If we lose 1 of ‘em I say he doesn’t deserve another year. If he’s going to leave I wish he would step aside asap
ill answer for ROAM ...Franklin needs to be gone after this year . He has had ample time to take Penn St to next level and simply hasnt . Not a bad coach , good recruiter , but below average in game coach .Ill say it again , 2019 and 2020 HE blew the Ohio St games . The other thing I dont get is why cant he recruit better QB's ? Clifford is ok but my Ohio St pal from Akron told me when Meyer came to OSU he made it priority One to start recruiting top flight QBs . It started with keeping and changing how Braxton Miller played and its been pretty good eevr since .PSU needs a coach who can go to California or Texas and get a 4/5 star QB out of states like that .Not Matt McGloin types anymore
I agree with Buckeye lion... at this point his signature win against OSU is due to a blocked FG. That's it, and a bunch of other times that we should have won but gave it away.
Also, following a loss there seems to be a systematic failure to shake it off and play well the next week.
It's been 8-9 years, at a certain point you need to ask are we okay with perpetual 2-3 loss seasons and consistently falling short due to in game coaching decisions.
@southern-psu-fan Why would he deserve another year if he wins the next 4? So he can have another year and lose the big games and NOT make the playoffs AGAIN? It's been like groundhog day for most of the 8 or 9 years or however long he has been here. He isn't going to get PSU to the next level. He is a good coach, just not an elite coach.
@navylion make no mistake, I hope he takes the USC job and if you remember what I said last year after going 4-5 I said this probably won’t end good. I do think he’s done enough to get another year if he wants it because we have had some good seasons and the team was a wreck when he got here. If he’s going to leave I would hope he’d get out of the way and let us see what Yurcich can do the rest of the year. The Iowa game did it in for me brother
Reality is, he's not going anywhere unless he wants to, all the rest is pure speculation, including USC and LSU.
@been-there-ii I agree BT, we can lose the next 3 games and he’s not going to get fired.
