Will Sanders declare....I say yes and he should.  At 5.9 yards per carry, he's third among draft eligible RBs....He will likely declare

I don't think he should declare, I know his stats look pretty good but there's more to it than that. For one, his ball security is very concerning to NFL teams I'm sure. He needs to stop fumbling, Petersen may have been able to get away with it but not Sanders.

His ability to take a beating is in question too, because he doesn't have a lot of carries in his career. No one really knows if he can stand up to a NFL season of carrying the load every game.

Also, he's not very high up on anyone's board. The highest I've seen him is an early 3rd day selection in the 5th round. Now... if you want to play in the NFL regardless then by all means go, but I don't see any benefit to it. Right now he's listed as the 9-11 back in the draft should he declare. And that's in a league that becomes more pass happy every year.

I see it as a Tony Carr mistake... He just wasn't ready. I'm not sure Sanders is yet either.

All that said... It's certainly his decision to make, he hopefully knows what's best for himself. I wish him luck whichever path he chooses.

This is a VERY WEAK draft class at the RB position...Sanders may well be the 1st back taken in the draft this year...So it is hard to tell the kid to turn down the money and I don't know what his family circumstances are so it is hard to know what the kid should do...HOWEVER...I agree with Roam regarding his fumbling issues...It is an easy thing to fix as all he needs to do is get that ball high and tight but it still needs to be addressed and fixed...My bet is he is going to declare for the draft but I would be doing a lot of due diligence to ensure that my draft grade is sufficient where I am selected in the first 2 rounds and if not I would recommend the kid go back to school for one more year...

I have to agree, maybe one more year to hone his skills a little more, especially  ball security.  I just don't see him as a special kind of back right now. Could be the Barkley effect.

He's not going anywhere close to the first RB taken.

As for the 5.9 being the 3rd best among draft eligible RB's, I have no idea where you got that stat from Murray because it's completely wrong.

Ozigbo (Neb), Ollison (Pitt), Cronkrite (USF), Ware (USC), Corbin (Ill) all have over 6.0 yards per carry and are eligible for the draft. Heck... Nico Evans (WYO), Treyveon WIlliams (TAMU), and Darrell Henderson (MEM) all have 6.0+ yards per carry with more attempts and more overall yards than Sanders.

eligible RBs who carried the ball more than 200 times........he'll see less time with the ball next year with Slade coming on and Brown too.

Minnesota took Delvin Clark in the second round, 6 fumbles his last year, Mixon went at 46 Alvin Kamara drafted...all had 5 fumbles like Sanders.

1,223 yards is 10th, last year 22 RBs were taken....He'll take the payday over taking a chance of not shining next year.

I don't think he should declare but my sources are telling me he most likely will.

1. Dalvin Cook had 3 years of 1000+ rushing

2. Mixon was a dual treat back with 500+ receing yards to go with his 1200+ rushing yards

3. Kamara was def. a special case, he had over 2000 scrimmage yards while only starting 8 games at UT. Also averaged 1 TD per game.

I just don't see Sanders going very high, but it's up to him of course. Not really worried either way, I think Slade will be a beast next year should Miles leave.

I love Boobie but he needs another year to learn how to hold on to the ball. Man he puts the ball on the ground. Cost us the Ohio st game. I still love him  though lol

I would like to see Miles stick around another year. But I’m sure the money is nice too.

I agree with SPF. He needs to come back for another year. Ball security is an issue. For once, I would love to see everyone come back to make a run in 2019.

Toward the end of the year he ran with authority e.g lowered the shoulder and tried to punish the defender but he does not have elite game speed or quickness. He's an average to good back in the NFL at this point.

I'd go as far as saying when Slade gets the ball, his burst smokes Miles.

I doubt that his draft stock is high enough at this point to warrant him leaving early.  I get wanting to avoid an injury and ruining his future and all that jazz but his habit of putting the ball on the ground might be enough to scare some teams away and let him drop to a later round.  He's a man now, he's the one that will have to live with whatever decision he makes.  Not us.

Not knocking the guy (good running back), but if most of you are concerned about him putting the rock on the ground (me too), do we need him to come back?  Just saying.

Heard he may not start next year. Franklin has two running backs coming in that are lights out.

LOL...where did you hear this??  If we've learned anything about JF it's that he's loyal to his upperclassmen in regards to PT.  Look no further than Farmer/Parsons.

Part of the original rumor about Boobie leaving stated that Sanders may be encouraged to leave. If he does get pushed out there's no doubt in my mind that his draft stock will rise after the combine.

mb, I’m on record wanting Boobie to come back brother. When they say push out are they saying they don’t want him on the team so go ahead and leave? If so I don’t believe that, you’d have to be out of your mind not to want Sanders on your team. Maybe I’m reading it wrong?

They wouldn't really be giving him a push out the door, it would be more like encouraging him to go because the timing is right.
