Since this is the football forum, thought I should share....

#7 is BS we have the 3rd best team in the big 10 maybe better if the QB can stay healthy. If Terry Smith would’ve sent Jim Knowles packing with James Franklin ass we would’ve beat Iowa and Indiana. My wife could even see the DC needed too go 😂 she’s watching the Iowa game and ask me how many times are they going to let that QB run like that…I turned up another Bud Light on the last one after she said that 😂 Trust me Homer, I’m feeling good about this team
My biggest concern at this point is how the locker room chemistry is going to play out. So far, there has been indications that things are going well. I hope that's true and not just guys spouting the party line to stay on the HC's good side. Aside from all the incoming Iowa State transfers we lost 50 former Lions to the portal. A lot of friendships were broken up & new relationships need to be cultivated. It's gonna take some time to bring everybody together singing Kumbayoo!
Just in case some of ya’ll forgot! Just deal with it snake
I am sometimes baffled on how some of you guys come up with these off the wall metrics after such a major transition. Having a new coach in town with 37 transfer players doesn't automatically make you a B1G winner or CFB playoff contender.
Yeah sure, everyone is entitled to their "I like what I see" , however what you see isn't always what you get. Everything always looks good on paper. We've been down this road year after year.
@jimmy-v I'll bite, what off the wall metrics? The majority here are hesitantly optimistic.
What's this "we" shit Kimosabi?
@jimmy-v when you understand and can see the field in football you just gotta be able to connect the dots snake. When you take the top 25 players from a p4 conference team that was in the big 12 championship game in 2024 and went 8-4 in 2025 would’ve done better if not for injuries and add them to a stud football team like Penn St = Big 10 championship game in 2026 baby.
@southern-psu-fan You seem to gloss over the fact that a lot of last years PSU players are no longer there. My only prognostication for this year and every year is that PSU will play in at least 12 games.
@psugrad81 James Franklin recruited very good and there’s no doubt in my mind the players that were recruited by James Franklin that’s still on the team are top notch football players. I’d be more concerned about the Iowa St players coming in than the players recruited by James Franklin. 11-1 81 playing in the big 10 championship game just wait and see.
Yup, we got a few good players coming back from last year, but we lost a lot too. I believe it's about 50 former Lions that went to the portal.
Check that short video out 81 and you’ll see why I’m so excited about this years team. Check it out guys it’s short and pretty good.
@southern-psu-fan I don't spend any time watching peoples opinions. I occasionally read about CFB and have found that they are wrong as often as they are right. I just enjoy watching Penn State football and basketball. And women's VB as well.

My confidence regarding what I feel their record will be after the regular season is based on their schedule this year...I would figure they will be favored in every game except the Michigan game and I am not sold on how good Michigan will be this year...That is why I feel they will make the B1G championship game and be in the playoffs...Once in the CFP anything can happen...I will say this to you Pipe...IF they end up losing 2,3 or 4 games and don't make the CFP with this schedule Campbell's seat is going to get very warm...This is Penn State and expectations are high with this program and rightfully so...This ain't Rutgers...This is a top 10 program looking to become elite...They brought him in to take the next step...This is a season with the schedule they have that expectations should be no more than 1 loss and a trip to the B1G championship game and a CFP slot...We shall see how it plays out but those expectations aren't unrealistic based on their schedule...

I appreciate your enthusiasm Southern. You're a positive thinker.
P.S. when you get a chance take a picture of the gas prices in your area are and post it. When you get an opportunity, no hurry
@psugrad81 Uuuum, you enjoy PSU basketball??? That's kind of sadistic, don't ya think? I keep hoping w/ each new coach, they'll finally break through. Alas, I think that's a pipe dream. Been hoping that, since they hired Coach Harter, back before most of this forum members were out of diapers. lol Back when only the rich folks could afford Pampers.
Women's Volleyball, different story!

You keep buying the same Hope-O-Meter year in , year out. At one time I was the same way as you. I'm currently seeing a 7-5 season.

That is as possible as them going undefeated or having a 1 loss season going into the B1G championship game and a CFP slot...I will say this to you Pipe...If that team goes 7-5 with the schedule they have Campbell will be fired at seasons end...By the way...I asked you this before...Lets have a little fun and put a wager on this...I got em losing 1 game this season...You got em losing 5...How much can you afford to lose? Here is the deal...Whatever you can afford to put up you lose if they go the regular season with 1 loss or less and if they lose 5 games I will pay you 5 times the wager...That's how sure I am in my prediction...How sure are you? Let me know how much you are willing to wager...I am waiting...
