I can't stand the guy, but maybe he's not as dumb as he looks. His comments to the press the week before they played us may have fired up his team - "I don't believe we have a player in the 2-deep that they've recruited here over the last 3 years that is really significantly doing anything for us in the playing department, that's a major concern". Also I saw an article where he said he has his players wear gloves the same color as the jersey of the opponent they're playing. Makes it easier to mask holding, pass interference, etc!
I did not like losing the Illinois but I hated losing to Bielemia. I will never forget the abuse of a new rule by him when he was with Wisconsin. The new rule was that the clock started at the kick of the ball, on kickoffs, vs at first touch of an opposing player. That rule was since changed back. Anyway, Wisconsin scored with a decent amount of time left in the first half and PSU would have had a chance torun some plays. They repeatedly kicked the ball out of bounds until the clock ran out in the half. Now I do have to admit that I would have done the same thing had I thought about it, but it really angered me at the time.
@psugrad81 That dude is a dirtbag. I remember him laughing when my man MROB got hurt back in 03 or 04 can’t remember which year. If I remember right didn’t Joe run it up on Wisconsin in 05? Lol
