Terry Smith take over Saturday and we start winning like this team is capable of. This is how Brent Key got the Ga Tech job. Ga Tech had no idea Brent Key would step in and get the ship headed in the right direction. It would be nice to see our players step it up and beat Iowa which I believe is doable. Can Terry Smith get the players to step it up like Brent Key did we will see Saturday. I’m pulling like heck for him and I look for the players to play their ass off.

What would it take for Terry Smith to earn the job? IMO finish the season 6-1 with a bowl victory. You never know

He has the rest of the season to prove himself. It will be interesting to see what the offense looks like, I feel if it doesn’t improve Kotelnicki will be fired next. He might even get fired tomorrow.

@psujoe   I’d keep as much of the coaching staff together and just turn the OC loose we ain’t got nothing to lose and everything to gain. I don’t believe James Franklin was calling plays but that doesn’t mean he was t doing what James Franklin wanted. Grunkenmeyer is the key and I wish he could’ve got his feet wet with NW their defense stinks.

How’s the dude at Wisconsin keep his job? Iowa is an average team and they killed Wisconsin.

If the dude at Indiana can turn that program around in a year Penn St can be turned around day one with a good coach.

you are about to find out how average Iowa is Saturday night...How many points do you think we are going to score against their defense? You think we can score 17 offensive points?

@the-funeral-director  yes I do think we can score 17 points I’m more worried about our defense after the last 2 games. Hopefully these guys want to get Terry Smith a win and they come to play and knock some dick in the dirt! I’m just a regular Jesus freak loving family man that loves Hank Jr and takes a lot of pride my brother in Penn St football and it’s killing me how James Franklin let this happen because this BS on the field is self inflicted and should’ve never happened. Penn St pride FD ❤️

@been-there-ii IMO lets keep the coaches in place and see if Terry Smith learned anything from what James Franklin struggled with sometimes it works. From just a fan watching the game I’m not sold on the OC or the DC but James Franklin may have had their hands tied some. New blood at head coach let’s see what happens. I watched with my own eyes this play out at Ga Tech the team responded and started winning football games and it worked. It’s probably a long shot but it might work and if it does work Roam and the funeral director might enjoy the bowl game 😂New blood at the top let’s get behind the team and just win baby! 😁🇺🇸🍺🍺🍺

I just can't completely buy into coordinators having their hands tied to the point, they couldn't do their jobs. Why would they take the job in the 1st place? (Franklin repeatedly said he wasn't calling the plays) And I certainly can not/do not believe Hagans was tied up in any way, shape or form.

@been-there-ii i agree im just willing to give them a chance just to be sure. The less turnover the better because I’m wanting to win as many games possible. Losing is never an option for ole southern baby 😂

IMO, things change regardless of the reason unless someone just wants to did in and hold the status quo. IDM goofy change but something that was either being held back or as a result of something learned over the past three games.

If nothing changes, then you know it was just a chit team, effort, and coaching.

Change can also be just coming out fired up, ready to bust ass, not be scared of failure, and dogging it for a full 60 minutes.

If I were involved in the selection process, I would see this as an opportunity to get a coach who can take the team to the next level, and also as an opportunity to get other schools to spend money.  Penn State threw big bucks at Franklin to keep him from going elsewhere.  It was a mistake; we all know how that worked out.

While not a direct comparison, look at what Auburn did in 2017.  They were 7 and 2 heading into the game against then #1 Georgia.  They beat Georgia and then beat #1 Alabama 2 games later.  As a result, Auburn thought they had their coach of the future and extended Guz Malzahn less than a month later ...... and then fired him 3 years later.  It is estimated that the mistake cost Auburn $75 million.  Since firing Malzahn, Auburn is 25 and 31.

I am hopeful that Penn State can get the coach they need and also get some other teams to make costly mistakes.
