Oddly the ESPN Indicator moved in our favor since yesterday. I think it was closer to 55/45. It must have something to do with quality wins and is almost useless at this point. But I'm feeling 60/40 is closer to right than 55/45. At this point Auburn is an unknown. Maybe the Whiteout and Gameday moved it 😎
Just checked and PSU is -6 1/2. I'm sure that may change a little one way or another by Saturday night.
@the-funeral-director I’m your biggest cheerleader FD hoping your right brother!
The firing of Gus Malzahn significantly improved Auburn. They now have an unknown and hungry coaching staff, and a group of talented and confident student-athletes. The Penn State Deepers and OLBs look much better this year and should be able to control the Auburn passing game if the line can get pressure on Nix. But #9 has been a step out of position too many times and #16 has missed some interceptions but never misses a chance to go peacocking after a pass is incomplete in his area.
I agree with you Tae however I believe Penn State's athletes are as good or better than Auburns...In fact I think Penn State from an athletic perspective is as good as anybody...
@the-funeral-director and I agree with you FD. Penn State has an incredible group of Student Athletes.
The Auburn players will be confident because they see teams outside the SEC as being inferior - especially those who do not dominate their conference. If Auburn has consistent success or prevents Penn State from moving the ball effectively, their confidence will grow. They have the talent to stand toe to toe and deliver blows.
I hope it is 29F with freezing rain. Auburn will love it.
I like your line FD.
Yeah, but they DON"T have 107K fans dressed in WHITE coming to the game. AND....they are not playing the 0-5 Penn State team, they are playing the 6-0 Penn State team that thinks they are ALL THAT now!! This ain't the team started out 0-5 OR the team that finished 4-0. This is the 2-0 team with a win over a top 12 Team on the road and with a decisive win over the defending MAC champions. Say what you want, but Ball State has a good team - let's just see how the rest of their season goes now.
GO STATE!!!!
I don't think this Auburn team is the same 6-5 team that got beat by Northwestern by 16 points in Orlando last season...HOWEVER they ain't playing this game in Orlando...They are playing this ballgame in front of 109k crazed fans, dressed in white going bonkers...They are playing against a Penn State team that has one of the top defenses in the country looking to make a statement...I believe Penn State will make their statement and serve notice...I won't be shocked if Penn State drills em...I will be shocked if they don't...I really expect Penn State to win this ballgame by at least 2 touchdowns...
Just get the win all that matters to me 😁
Greetings from a long time Auburn Tiger. I love the confidence you have in your team as you should be. You are at home and have beaten a quality football team on the road. Kudos!
That being said, I dont see either team winning by more than a touchdown. We also have a renewed confidence now that we moved on from our previous coaching staff.
Who we played and who you all played up to this point is apples to oranges but really doesn't matter when the teams take the field.
I think our teams are more similar as far as talent goes. Both our teams have very good defenses and we have a wildcard at QB. I think you all have the better oline but I think our RBs are better. I think we have a slight edge with our special teams.
There is a huge debate about the atmosphere and this "white out". While I think it is significant in the end the team that executes the best wins the game.
If the Penn State defense can stop our rushing attack I do not have full confidence in out QB that he can win this game. I think our defense matches up pretty evenly with your offense, especially out back 7.
Cheers to a great game and look forward to the return trip to Jordan-Hare next year!
