Preppers here are going into overdrive w/ the eclipse. Jersey quake 4.8 on the Richter Scale, total eclipse happening on 4/8. Schools are closed. Quite a few businesses are close for the aft or at least during the event. Counties have declared "State of Emergency" for the traffic. But some nuts are talking it's to control the chaos that will ensue when people lose their minds. (IMHO they've already lost it)
See you on the other side.
BT, out!

I experienced tge earthquake on Friday. Took a few seconds to realize. You forgot about the invasion of cicadas this summer.
@forum-titan I used to keep track of those buzzy suckers when I was in PA. We have the regular locusts up here, but not the 17 yr variety. At least not in this area. I do remember they made pretty good bass bait in the farm pond. And when I was younger, were great sport w/ a badminton racket.

Locust, cicadas? What's the difference? Something comes out about the 3rd week of July in NE PA every summer. Those noisy things at night.
Uh oh, we survived the eclipse and the eclipse didn’t affect climate change BT 😂 I bet John Kerry is scared to come outside lol
@forum-titan You are correct, they are actually cicadas. True locusts look more like and are closely related to grasshoppers. We just grew up calling them locusts. Might be a regional thing, ground hog vs woodchuck, soda vs pop. Maybe they started calling them locusts when the 17 yr variety emerged.

I'll have to read up on them more. All I know is when they come out on the 3rd week of July, it tells me 2 things. The sweet corn is ready and football season is close by.
