@roaminglion lol Yeah, like FT points out, there's a whole lot of variables. But I will say, I'm impressed you can kill them off in a matter of days!
Maybe get a 5 gal bucket and some good soil less potting mix, try one on your deck. You aren't planting anywhere near a walnut tree or any of their close relatives are you?
How about the Trump, Biden debates coming up?
Wife just put a tomato plant in a pot with some vegtable potting soilAny advice on tomatoes? We put a tomato plant out and it dies within days. Lol@forum-titan Memorial Day is soon upon us. I'm putting my tomatoes in this morning, get them in, they'll love the 90 deg days coming. My pepper plants are a little small yet, hopefully by the weekend they'll go in. If I'd have known it was going to be so hot this week, I'd have planted the Dragon Tongue beans directly in the garden vs starting them in the greenhouse.
What's your soil readings? What kind of soil are you planting in.

Get them in the ground if you can. Tomatoes need 5.5 minimum to 7.0 ph. You want a rich loamy soil. You can buy a cheap ph meter for less than 10 dollars. Take a sample of dirt and put it in a small cup. Add distilled water and take your reading.
@roaminglion I just go to ingles and get tomatoes but down here in Georgia I’m able to find them being sold on the side of roads dudes have a truck load of vegetables and fruits. I love watermelon 😁
I’m with Southern on this one. To hell with digging, planting, fighting weeds and critters as it’s much easier and less time consuming buying them at the local corner stand or farmers market. A side benefit of going to the farmers market is that I can pick up a nice fresh wet bottom Shoofly Pie while there. I love Shoofly Pie !
You are so right, I miss shoofly pie. We dont have that anywhere out here. There's a shoofly bakery in Portland, but it turned out to just be a vegan bakery 🤮@roaminglion I just go to ingles and get tomatoes but down here in Georgia I’m able to find them being sold on the side of roads dudes have a truck load of vegetables and fruits. A lot of Lancaster County bakeries will ship them. I believe Bird In Hand Bakery ships there’s to just about anywhere. Their crust isn’t the best but the pie is still incredible.

Pa Dutch form both sides of the family, I make my own wet bottom shoo fly pie. The Amish up here have started using dark corn syrup vs molasses. Not even close!

I alway thought molasses was what made the pie what it is. Can’t imagine a Shoofly Pie without molasses!
@psujoe Not even close to the same. You slice a nice wedge out, mouth watering. Take a bite and think WTF is wrong w/ my taste buds. Then you read the ingredients and know you've been had.
@been-there-ii please tell me where I can order a good one y’all got me wanting to try that pie brother lol..maybe 81 knows somewhere around Atlanta I can get the shoofly pie?
@southern-psu-fan Not sure where SPF, I just drive down the road a ways or bake my own. Check Joe's comment above. Yep, google "shoo fly pie for sale. Bird in hand and a few others will sell you one for $40. (I'm in the wrong business) Or ask Mrs SPF to please make you one. I can send you my Aunt's recipe, if she says yes.
Breakfast of champions, coffee and 'fly pie!
@been-there-ii I found bird in hand and I’m going to order one and have it delivered to Panama City next week where we’re staying. Thanks buddy
Stella Beer and shoofly pie is a must for me next week I’ll be in Panama City 9 nights to get it done brother lol

I found a 10" shoofly pie from Bird-in-hand for $14.95... not $40? Just making sure I'm looking in the right place!!@southern-psu-fan Not sure where SPF, I just drive down the road a ways or bake my own. Check Joe's comment above. Yep, google "shoo fly pie for sale. @roaminglion Interesting. I didn't go to the actual site, it popped up on the Youtube listings, with a bunch of other places, same $39.99. Just went back to look again, not a one of them showing.
Yep, you go to the actual Bird-in-Hand and it's $15. That's reasonable.
SPF, be sure to get the wet bottom or you're just getting coffee cake in a pie shell. If you don't like molasses, you won't like Shoo Fly.
Thank y’all for the info I’m dying to try it. I don’t know what molasses is but when we go to Cancun or Jamaica they have wet deserts and I love them things. I’m not real picky when it comes to sweets I usually like anything lol
Molasses is a byproduct of processing sugarcane into sugar. It's also what makes brown sugar. Brown sugar is just regular sugar with molasses added to it.Thank y’all for the info I’m dying to try it. @roaminglion And make a pretty tasty alcoholic beverage too!
FYI Bird-In-Hand, PA is close to Intercourse, Paradise, Blue Ball and not far from Virginville.
