It is just one game but he looked nothing like the kid we saw at Penn State...You have to say at this point it wasn't the player it was the coaching...This is truly an indictment on the offensive coaching staff at Penn State...I know it was one pre season game but I can't believe the difference that I saw...Coaching matters...

Every sports show I’m listening too loves this dude and believes we already have our QB of the future and he might pushing for some serious playing time. I ain’t seen anything I’m just going on what I’m hearing. I’m telling you fellas, that shit we watched the last 3 year is gone we going to have a dang good offense. See link above. Topic kind of piggybacks off that Tom Fornelli tweet from Friday about teams that throw downfield. Statistically, he's a better deep ball thrower than Allar and Clifford, and a lot of his has to do with his ability to efficiently process info pre-snap and post-snap and then take advantage of coverage vulnerabilities. 20+ yard throw stats on each guy:

Interesting tidbit, because I know he's getting the label of can't win big games from some people. Looking into it, he's only lost 8 games in his HC career. 4 of those games came to National Champion. 2 more came against a team that played in the NC game. The other 2 were in his first year. That's it.

Outside of that, he has 9 wins against top 15 teams, 4 of which were top 5 teams.

James Franklin he is not.

But seriously, I don't remember being optimistic and/or enthusiastic during the lead-up to the season over the past few years. However, last year turned out to be better than I expected because of the coaching change. I am hopeful that Coach Campbell and his staff have put together a cohesive Team of student-athletes who will represent the university, students, fan base, and themselves admirably.

Author's Note: Time has passed, the weather has changed, and stuff has happened. My memory is not what it once was.
